The Interview I Didn’t Know About

So it’s Friday afternoon and I get a call from someone who has some property in Concho, and may want to list with me, but wants to meet with me first. This is fairly normal, people want to see if they will be able to get what they want for their property, and they want to size me up. I say okay, and how did they come to find me? Person on the other end says we saw your website. I think, COOL it’s not all for naught, someone’s paying attention. So we schedule a meet for that evening after work.

When we met they introduced themselves as “Carol and Don”, I tried to ask some questions to kind of break the ice, and see if our humor matches in any way. Don doesn’t answer and says “can we sit down somewhere”? Well I’ve either said something he doesn’t like, or we’re not hitting it off somehow, right? So I say sure come into my office. We sit. They ask about prices in Concho Valley, I do my job.

After about an hour, I’m thinking this is probably not going to work for us (they probably don’t like me, and I’m okay with that, I can’t be liked by everyone right?) but I’m doing what I can to try and salvage this ship before it completely goes up in flames. I’m getting kind of curious though, because they haven’t left. If they don’t like me why haven’t they left, right?

Finally (I think I saw Carol ribbing Don) Don says “you have just been interviewed”. At this point I’m thinking Equal Housing, or ADRE, or someone is going to produce a badge. I said “really?” - boiler plate response for me. Don says “yes and you’ve passed”. I’m wiping sweat off my brow now.

As it turns out they are very nice people who happen to have a company called Fedora Properties. They were checking me out, to see if I was really someone they wanted to work with. I now have some new friends, and they have asked me to list a few of their properties for them. They have some web sites that are ultra informative. If you’re wanting to know more about the area I would highly recommend checking them out.

ConchoLakeAz .com This one has some good maps of the subdivisions on it.

ConchoLakeAz.com blog Which is the best news source for the area. Everyone gets their news here.

Look for more on this as I continue to learn about Concho Valley, and all that is happening there. I was a little surprised when Don showed me all the developments going on in the area. A lot of them are ready to build on, and very close to the golf course and the lake. And the prices are very low for what is about to happen there. This will one day be the place to be!

LOL…. Sorry you had to go through Don’s interview tactics. ;-)

You did a great job!! You genuinely want to help the customer and you don’t have a problem going above and beyond the call of duty. That is a rare trait to find.

We are looking forward to a successful working realationship with you. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the nice words Carol!

Once I realized I wasn’t being spiked, I felt a LOT better.

Anybody ever tell you your husband looks like Matt Drudge? :-)
