Point 2 Agent is a company that helps Realtors sell properties by leveraging the internet in a very smart way. I'm not an expert on what all Point 2 actually does, but one thing I know they do, is real estate syndication, and from what I've seen they do that very well. They're the biggest real estate syndication outfit I know of.
Why should this matter to you, and what the heck am I talking about? Well let me tell ya'. If you're selling your home, the best type of advertising your Agent can do for you is of the digital type. This is where Point 2 comes to the aid of your Agent, in a *big* way. They take what your Agent has put in one place (in this case our local MLS) and they send it to over 35 search sites, and from there it makes it's way out to over 300 places on the internet.
I've watched Point 2 over the past couple years, and they've been the rave of Realtors for at least that long, so when I started getting wind that the White Mountain Association Of Realtors were going to start syndicating all the properties on the MLS via Point 2, I was *very* happy to hear it, because most anyone who starts out looking for property, begins by searching the internet.
As of 16 November every Agent in the White Mountain Association has a Point 2 account, and now their listings automatically get sent out to the biggest names on the internet for real estate, places like Zillow.com, Google Real Estate, Yahoo! Real Estate, The New York Times, Trulia, and many others. I think this is a smart move on the part of our association here, and an excellent use of resources. This is like using a backhoe to dig a quarter mile trench instead of a shovel, it just makes sense.
