TAYLOR - The Town of Taylor sits atop the Coconino aquifer, one of the best water sources in Arizona but the town, with the other communities in Navajo and Apache counties stand to lose this valuable resource.

ROUND VALLEY - Under requirements from the EPA, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality, municipalities and private water companies are required to test their water sources each year and create report every July 1. The report is called the Consumer Confidence Report.

PHOENIX - Lorenzo Joe Baldwin, 44, of Keams Canyon, was sentenced Aug. 2 by U.S. District Judge Earl H. Carroll to 41 months in prison for assaulting a 33-year-old member of the Navajo Nation.

WHITE MOUNTAIN LAKE - Former White Mountain Lake Fire District Fire Chief Joe Blake is charged with 43 felony counts of theft, misuse of public monies, fraudulent schemes and artifices and tampering with a public record.

APACHE COUNTY - In the Nov. 2 general election, County government is asking voters to approve $5.5 million in bonds.

SNOWFLAKE/TAYLOR - Despite a lower tax rate and budget, teachers in the Snowflake Unified School District will receive a pay increase at least for a year.
